Dr. Hirakawa received his D.E. degree from Hiroshima University, and was a research associate and an associate professor at Hiroshima University. He has been a professor at Shimane University since 2002. His research interests include human-computer interaction, multimedia computing, and mobile applications.

Presentation outline
Two ongoing system studies in our laboratory will be presented. One is an augmented reality system in which virtual imagery is overlaid on everyday physical objects. The other is a computer tool for patients on dialysis with aid of information and communication technologies.
