Speaker’s profile

Born in 1969 Fukuoka.
I graduated from Kyushu Institute of Technology Information Science and Systems Engineering graduate course.
Ph.D. (Information Science, Kyushu Institute of Technology)
My research area is mobile robot controlling.
Moreover, I am teaching about embedded system and am researching and developing its applications.
I am giving a lecture on the object-oriented language and software engineering using Ruby.
From such a background, I began to consider applying Ruby for embedded systems.

Lightweight Ruby – Development of Embedded Software by Ruby

Presentation outline

We are collaborating with several companies to apply to embedded systems with Ruby language.
Embedded systems are required to keep high reliable process within limited resources.
We have developed a ruby compiler and a virtual machine and verified them using Real-Time Operating System and Ruby Chip (a small microprocessor by FPGA).
