Yehuda Katz is a member of the SproutCore, Ruby on Rails and jQuery Core Teams; during the daytime, he works as Chief Technologist at Strobe. Yehuda is the co-author of the best-selling jQuery in Action, the upcoming Rails 3 in Action, and is a contributor to Ruby in Practice. Advancing Net::HTTP
Net::HTTP is a great Ruby HTTP library. In this talk, I will talk about the technical details of my improvements to Net::HTTP. I will talk about why a pure-Ruby reactor is a good idea, and how existing protocol libraries can be improved to make it easy to have asynchronous operations without special async versions.
